While researching my web standards essay for DESN1002 I stumbled across the above. It is a brief, but interesting look at how persuasive (propaganda) maps have evolved from paper to the web. It also goes over the different ‘rhetorical styles’ of persuasive maps.
This is of interest to me, as I love maps. But I also collated a massive collection of examples of octopuses in propaganda and political cartoons a few years ago. I really, really should do something to close that project properly. This might just be the start of that. Maybe.
