Lecture 6: Visual Identity

Seals, graffiti, brands, printers marks, coat of arms, are examples of visual identity and ownership claims (and power). These visual marks have evolved into “branding” as we know them: trademarks, logos and avatars. But even modern logos are not stagnant, for example: Apple. Which has changed with changing aesthetics and design standards, but most iterations based on the original striped apple logo by Rob Janoff.
